An Evening of Life Drawing

An Evening of Life Drawing
Last Wednesday we hosted our first Life Drawing class at the shop! It's always been part of our plan for All Things Analogue to host and run events at the store, inspired by the stationery we have. Our mantra, Write - Draw - Create, sits at the heart of this and we aim to provide people with the tools to do just that!

To kickstart our events programme we were delighted to work with local artist, Alice Hesketh, on an evening of Life Drawing.

Alice is a graduate of Camberwell College of Art and specialises in contemporary figurative paintings and drawings. Based in Eastbourne, she regularly runs portrait and evening life classes at her studio in Cornfield Lane and we were thrilled to host her at the shop.

To get the shop transformed and studio ready, the tables and their usual stationery companions were squirrelled away to create a lovely open space. Our window display was temporarily relocated to create a stage area for our model (with the use of a modestly screen and our ever growing collection of plants and typewriters as camouflage from the outside world!)

We started out with a few warm up sketches before working towards a longer pose. With time for drinks and snacks too, it was great to have people in the shop of an evening and to see how well the spaced worked. We’re looking forward to where the programme goes next and, of course, to welcoming Alice back soon.
