During my work experience I’ve been helping Nicki and Abel in their shop. I’ve had a very nice time and I’m going to tell you about a few things I was doing this week. 

Throughout my time I have been shadowing Nicki around the store doing a couple of her usual jobs. On the first day, for example, I was allowed to create the window display which I found very exciting. I also packed a few online orders, took inventory and created some pictures that could be used on the shop’s Instagram account.

One thing that I really enjoyed was screen printing the tote bags. This was a whole new experience and it was really fun to do something completely different to normal.

I liked pricing up stock as it gave me time to admire all the items in the store. I also loved chatting to Nicki and Abel and of course all the customers. Taking orders and talking about profit margins are very useful for future jobs

Some highlights of my week were arranging the MT tape and prepping the bottles of ink for a calligraphy class. As they were both very satisfying tasks.

Overall I had a wonderful time working in All Things Analogue and would recommend it to a range of people. This beautiful shop has something for everyone.
